Victoria
The Victoria guitar is a unique three layer clamshell guitar design. The top layer consists of the headstock, neck and body with a "V" shape. The middle and bottom layers are more of a standard double-cutaway guitar body shape, with the addition of a cutout for resting the guitar on your right leg.
Victoria has an embedded processor to provide effects. The effects are controlled by five knobs (from top to bottom in the picture above):
If you push-turn the knobs (turn while pushing down):
- volume -- push to change overdrive styles (clean, overdrive, fuzz, distortion)
- tone -- push to choose pickup (neck, bridge, both, both with midrange boost)
- modulation -- push to choose type of modulation (tremelo, chorus, wawa, vibrato)
- delay -- push to choose type of delay (slapback, echo, reverb, fuzzy echo)
- preset -- push to save current settings as preset. Push and hold for 4 seconds to reset the preset to its original values.
If you push-turn the knobs (turn while pushing down):
- gain (impacts overdrives only)
- bass level (turn counter-clockwise to reduce the bass)
- modulation depth
- delay volume
- suboctave level
- clean, neck pickup
- chorus, bridge pickup
- overdrive, bridge pickup, tremelo
- fuzz, bridge pickup, slight delay
- distortion, both pickups with midrange boosted, slight delay
- overdrive, with shallow chorus (flange) and slapback delay
- clean, neck pickup with echo
- distortion, both pickups with midrange boosted, fuzzy echo
- fuzz with suboctave (like Hendrix)
- overdrive with echo
- distortion with flanging and quick delay
- fuzz with heavy vibrato
Vicky
Vicky is a 24 inch scale length Victoria guitar with simplified effects controls. There are still five knobs, but there are no push-turn settings. Here's how the controls work:
- volume -- push to change overdrive styles (clean, overdrive, fuzz, distortion)
- tone -- push to choose pickup & suboctave (neck, bridge, both, both with suboctave)
Power Saving and Recharging
In order to save energy, Victoria guitars will go to sleep after 10 minutes of non-play. Turning any knob or turning the guitar off and on again will wake it up.
Except for the very first Victoria I built, all of the Victoria guitars are rechargeable using a micro-USB recharger (like what is used to recharge Android phones). Attach the USB cable to the micro-USB port on the body of the guitar next to the neck. A red light should light up inside the guitar near the port when charging. The light will turn green when the guitar is fully charged.
